Cassandra has $\$g$ for pocket money.
Melvin has $\dfrac{4}{5}$ times as much pocket money as Cassandra.
Jeremy has $\$5$ more than Melvin.
(a) What is the total amount of pocket money the three friends have in terms of $g$ and in decimals?
(b) The sum of Melvin's pocket money and Cassandra's pocket money is $\$54$.
What is the value of $g$?

(a)
Total amount of pocket money the three friends have

= $g +$ $\dfrac{4}{5}$ $g\ +$ $\dfrac{4}{5}$ $g + 5$
= $g + 0.8g + 0.8g + 5$
= $2.6g + 5$

(b)
$0.8g + g$ = $54$
$g = \boxed{30}$

	= $g +$ $\dfrac{4}{5}$ $g\ +$ $\dfrac{4}{5}$ $g + 5$
	= $g + 0.8g + 0.8g + 5$
	= $2.6g + 5$
