How our online Maths Practice Portal works
By Max Loo Pin Mok · 28 Jul 2026
This short walkthrough shows exactly how a student uses the Max SG Tutors
Maths Practice Portal — from picking questions to seeing their marks — so
parents can see what they are paying for before they enquire.
What the video covers
- Choosing questions. Students filter by level, subject and topic, then
select the questions they want to attempt — or start a quick practice set. - Working through a question. Each question accepts typed answers using
simple, primary-friendly input aids (a maths toolbar with fractions, powers,
$\pi$ and common symbols, plus a live preview), so a child never needs to know
LaTeX. - Active-recall checking. In Practice, the portal marks each answer right or
wrong without giving the worked solution away — the student is nudged to
try again and genuinely recall the method, not copy an answer. - Seeing grades and progress. Finished attempts show marks per question and
an overall score, and the tutor can see what each student has answered and
understood.
Why this matters for PSLE-level Maths
Practice is what moves marks. The portal is built around exam-standard questions
with fully worked answers that a tutor reveals when a student is ready, so every
attempt is deliberate practice rather than passive reading.
