Privacy Policy
Last updated: 3 August 2026
Max SG Tutors is operated by a sole proprietor registered with ACRA in Singapore (UEN 53525143B). This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and your rights under Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).
What we collect
- Email address — when you register, so we can sign you in with a one-time code. No passwords are stored, because we never ask for one.
- Enquiry details — if you use the enquiry form, the name, email address, phone number and message you enter, so we can reply. We also record which page the enquiry came from and your browser's user-agent string, to tell which pages actually generate enquiries.
- Practice Portal work — questions you post, answers and attempts you submit, and any photographs of handwritten working you upload. These are stored against your account so a tutor can review them and release worked answers.
- Device information — if you link the Quick Reader app, the device model and a pairing token, so the app can stay signed in.
- Server logs — IP address, browser type and requested URL, kept for a short period for security and abuse prevention.
Why we collect it
- To sign you in without a password.
- To reply to enquiries about tuition.
- To let a tutor mark your work and release worked answers to you.
- To understand which pages lead to enquiries — in aggregate, never sold and never tied to your name for anyone outside this site.
Children's privacy
Much of this site is aimed at PSLE-level pupils, who are typically eleven or twelve years old. We ask that a parent or guardian creates the account and submits any enquiry, and that a parent or guardian supervises a child's use of the Practice Portal.
We collect no more from a pupil than the work they submit. We do not ask children for their address, school, date of birth, phone number, or any payment detail, and pupils should not include personal information in a posted question or an uploaded photograph. If you are a parent or guardian and you would like to see, correct, or delete anything a child has submitted, email us and we will action it.
Third parties we use
- Google AdSense — serves the advertisements shown on this site and sets cookies in your browser to do so. See Advertising and cookies below.
- Google Ads — a Google tag records when an enquiry is submitted or a WhatsApp button is clicked, so we can tell whether advertising is working. It records the action, not who you are.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics — counts page views without cookies and without tracking individuals across sites.
- Brevo — an email-delivery service used to send sign-in codes and notifications. It sees only the recipient email address.
- A VPS hosting provider — hosts our server and database.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share the personal data described above with any party other than those listed here. In particular, your email address, your enquiry, and any work or photographs submitted to the Practice Portal are never given to Google or to any advertiser. The site does carry advertising, which is described in full below.
Retention
- Your email and account are kept until you ask us to delete the account.
- Practice Portal work and uploaded photographs are kept until you delete them, or until the account is deleted.
- Enquiries are kept while we follow them up and for a reasonable period afterwards.
- Server logs are rotated out after a short period.
Advertising and cookies
This site carries advertising supplied by Google AdSense. Advertising helps cover the cost of running the site. It does not influence the teaching content, and no material on this site is paid placement.
- Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- Other third-party vendors may also serve advertisements here and set their own cookies. We do not control those cookies and cannot read what they store.
- Advertisers receive no personal data from us. We do not pass your email address, enquiry details, or any submitted work to Google or to any advertiser, and we do not use them to target advertising.
- Pages aimed at children are marked as such, and on those pages advertising is non-personalised — no advertising profile is built from a child's visit.
Turning personalised advertising off
- Opt out of personalised Google advertising at Google Ads Settings.
- Opt out of many other vendors at aboutads.info, or youronlinechoices.eu in Europe.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Every part of this site that does not require a sign-in remains fully usable with advertising cookies blocked.
Further detail on how Google uses information from sites that use its services is at Google's partner-sites policy.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you will be asked for your consent before any personalised advertising cookie is set, and you can change or withdraw that choice at any time from the link in the consent notice.
Your rights under PDPA
You may at any time:
- Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct or update any inaccurate information.
- Withdraw consent and request deletion of your account and its contents.
- Lodge a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Commission of Singapore.
Send any of the above requests to hello@maxsgtutors.com. We will respond within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service changes — for example, if a new third-party provider is added. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
